The Situation

A bank owner had already hired a contractor to renovate floor coverings and reconfigure interior walls at one of their branches. The project also called for a complete teller line replacement, but the contractor didn’t build custom furniture. The bank needed a partner who could design and fabricate a new teller line to fit the updated floor plan and have it ready to install on the same timeline as the rest of the renovation.

The bank found Modular Furniture Group online and reached out about handling the teller line and workstation side of the project.

The Challenge

The renovation was already underway, which meant Modular Furniture Group had to coordinate with an existing contractor and work within a timeline that was already set. The bank couldn’t close for an extended period, so whatever went in had to be designed, built, and installed without adding days or weeks to the overall project schedule.

How We Approached It

Modular Furniture Group started with detailed measurements of the space and built full-size 3D models so the bank could see exactly what the new teller line and workstations would look like before fabrication began. The customer reviewed and approved the design down to the finishes and layout details.

While the contractor continued their work on floors and walls, Modular Furniture Group fabricated the entire teller line and supporting workstations in their Omaha shop. Every piece was pre-assembled and tested in the factory, then broken down for shipping. This parallel process meant the furniture was ready to install as soon as the construction side of the renovation wrapped up.

When the time came, the team coordinated a weekend installation date with all the trades involved. The bank closed as usual on Friday afternoon. The existing teller stations were demolished, and the new Modular Furniture Group teller line and workstations were unloaded, assembled, and installed on site.

The Result

The bank opened Monday morning with a completely renovated interior, including a brand-new custom teller line, updated workstations, and a refreshed look from floor to ceiling. The branch never closed for an extra day, and customers walked into what felt like an entirely new facility.
